Extended Project

Work that crosses boundaries and showcases interdisciplinary arts

Dates: Mon 22 - Tue 23 Mar 2021

Across two days, 13 artists from our Developing Artistic Practice pathway at London Contemporary Dance School share their research and practices, facilitated through the support of each other and with Katye Coe and Frank Bock.

Extended Project is a space for exploration, crossing boundaries and interdisciplinary art. Expect durational works, audio explorations, installations, videos and live elements.

The group have been working online, across the world from studio spaces in their homes this year. This required them to use their situations not just as a condition but also as a material they had to consider in their making. The work you will encounter is rooted in and activated through these circumstances.  A central focus has been working with materiality in relation to dance and expanded choreographic practices in order to think  through and make choices continuously. Many of the works are part of ongoing practices rather than being complete or finished. Each artist will guide you toward the particular themes and modes that these practices take. We hope you enjoy visiting them.
