Applications are open for September 2021 entry. Deadline for applications is Monday 8 February 2021, 12 noon.
Stage one is an online application form where you input details about you, your educational and dance history, and a personal statement about why you want to join LCDS. You will also be asked to submit a video task. We clearly outline what to include in your video in the application form and in this guideline document. Candidates are encouraged to complete the online application as early as possible. Submissions will be viewed on a first come first served basis and early submissions will be considered for the early Admission Workshop in February.
If you are successful at stage one, you will be invited to stage two which is an Admission Workshop, either at The Place, overseas or online, where we will set creative and improvisation tasks, as well as host a seminar-style discussion as a whole group. These workshops will be hosted in February and March.
Stage three is an interview, either online or in person. We will send you the questions prior to the interview so you will have time to prepare. After your interview, School Office staff will be in touch via email (no more than two weeks after your interview date) with an outcome.
During the admission process we will be looking for your ability to engage in creative processes, demonstrating imagination, resourcefulness and adaptability. We also want to see if you have an understanding of dance in its wider context and a potential for development of technical capabilities and performance skills.
Undergraduate applications open in the previous October before the year of entry. International students should be sure to apply early enough to allow for visa application if necessary.
Applicants are welcome to contact us to discuss any questions or concerns they may have, and to arrange a visit to the School.
