Study Abroad Programme

The Study Abroad Programme at London Contemporary Dance School can span over one, two terms or three whole terms of our Undergraduate Programme. During your time at the school you will learn from leading dance practitioners, be exposed to creative and authentic dance techniques, choreograph, perform and be fully immersed in the life as a dance student at a leading conservatoire in the United Kingdom.

The programme offers the chance to learn dance techniques such as Flying LowPassing ThroughGaga and Contact Improvisation along with more traditional dance styles like Cunningham Based Technique and Ballet. All classes are housed in our Central London location, The Place in state-of-the-art studios. 


You can join us for: 

TERM 1 – September to December  

TERM 2 – January to March  

TERM 1 & TERM 2 – September to March  

TERM 1, 2 & TERM 3* – September to July

The tuition fee is £8000 for one term


What does each term include?

TERM 1 (September to December):

Technique Classes: Ballet X4 per week, Contemporary Technique X4 per week, Contact Improvisation and Gaga X1 per week

Developing Choreographic Skills: Share your own choreographic work through student led initiatives like Ideas in Action

And two of the following options:

1) Repertoire

2) Site specific work

3) Choreological Studies

4) Design

TERM 2 (January to March ):

Technique Classes: Ballet X4 per week, Contemporary Technique X4 per week, Contact Improvisation, Gaga X1 per week

Developing Choreographic Skills: Share your own choreographic work through student led initiatives like Ideas in Action

Music and Choreography: Focusing on the relationship of music and choreography. There will be tasks and lectures around the topic, ending with devising a duet where you will include elements of costume and lighting.

Apply for Study Abroad Programme 

There is no deadline or visa requirements for the Study Abroad Programme. However, if you are joining for more than one term there will be a visa requirement. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.


*Please note that we do not offer Term 3 on its own.
