Sofia Casprini

Sofia was born in Florence¸ Italy. She led a very athletic childhood training in gymnastics and dance. She was first educated at Danzaria in Montevarchi (Arezzo) under direction of Maria Toth. During her studies Sofia worked with a number of choreographers and teachers including David Strnad, Director of Brno National Theatre; Steven Pelton, London based Limón technique teacher and Attila Egerhazi, Director of Budapest Dance Theatre and Hungarian Ballet Theatre. She then studied contemporary dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance. During this time she has worked and collaborated with artists from companies including Danish Dance Theatre, Limón Dance Company, Martha Graham Dance Company, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Michael Clark Company and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures as well as a diverse range of choreographers including Marina Collard, Zoi Dimitriou, Dam Van Huynh and Gary Lambert. Sofia graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance.
