Olly was born in Leeds in 1996 and began taking dance classes from an early age at his local dance school. At 13 he joined Northern Ballet’s Centre for Advanced Training before transferring to Northern School of Contemporary Dance to complete his pre-vocational training. Here he found that contemporary dance allowed him more freedom to express himself in the way that he wanted. He then moved to London to begin his BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Whilst in London Olly’s passion for energetic, fast paced movement and love for floorwork grew after seeing works by Gary Clarke and taking workshops with companies such as 2Faced and Motionhouse. During his training Olly enjoyed the experiences he had of performing in a wide range of venues including Selfridges as part of the Everybody Project and Elektrowerkz. In the future Olly hopes to continue to gain experience performing in different types of venues and in different modes of performances whilst pursuing new ways of moving.
