Eevi Kinnunen

What is one of the highlights of your time at London Contemporary Dance School?

Performing and creating alongside my talented peers has formed some beautiful moments throughout my time at LCDS. One of the most memorable moments is a process shared with my two incredible classmates, dancers Tasha Hess-Neustadt and Bonni Bogya sharing an intimate, trusting and fun creative process for the piece Pink, Dirty, Soft created during the collaborations module. However, the daily dances shared with my classmates will stay with me, inspiring me. All the laughs, 8:45am sleepy ballet barres, late night dates at body conditioning room and deep sighs at the library. The small daily moments of pure happiness from learning, understanding and discovering, are equally, if even more important  for me. I will take these moments with me to give me wisdom, strength and softness as I approach the career in dance.

What do you plan to do after graduating from London Contemporary Dance School?

After graduation, I'm teaching some workshops in Finland and then I'm heading to Brussels. I have been accepted to David Zambrano's 5 week intensive training for Flying Low and Passing Through, so that's where I'll be dancing next! In the future I hope to work as a dancer as well as keep creating and developing my own practice as an artist. I'm excited to build a career in dance and work with people who's practice and values I support and believe in. I'm looking forward to seeing where me and my amazing, inspiring, soon to be colleagues end up with our dancing, art or other passions.
