Welcome to our two new Lecturers in Dance

Congratulations to our new LCDS Lecturer in Dance, Vicky Mantey and Omari Carter.

Vicky “Skytilz” Mantey is a dancer, choreographer and teacher specialising in Hip Hop and Street Dance forms. In a career spanning two decades as a freelance artist, she has worked on a range of projects across film, theatre and television. Examples include: choreography and movement direction for London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympic Ceremony, Street Dance 3D and Trainspotting T2.

Vicky has previously worked as a performer, teacher and choreographer for the Olivier Award-winning dance company Boy Blue, working on productions such as Pied Piper and The Five and the Prophecy of Prana. She has also taught at LAMDA, University of East London and frequently teaches the youth company in ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company.

She will be joining the faculty and starting with us in Sep 2021, teaching Hip Hop on the undergraduate course.

Also joining the faculty is former MA Screendance student Omari 'Motion' Carter. Omari will be facilitating the Dance and Tech Module for our second year BA students, as well as leading a Body Percussion workshop during Induction. As many of you know, Omari is a graduate of the first cohort of our MA Screendance, and it is fantastic to now have him teaching with us.

Omari ‘Motion’ Carter is a screendance practitioner, body percussionist and lecturer based in London (UK) and, for the past decade, has been choreographing, teaching, and performing for music video, film, television, and theatre. A first-class BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts at London Metropolitan University led Omari to perform for 7 years in the West End and international touring productions of ‘Stomp!’.  During this time, Omari choreographed, directed, performed, and produced a varied reel of dance-film with screendance production company, The Motion Dance Collective, which he founded in 2011.
