Jorge Crecis has re-created an original commission for London Contemporary Dance School’s postgraduate company EDge for Acosta Danza.
Spanish dance-maker Jorge’s original commission for EDge 2011 was called 36, since then it has been reworked specifically for Acosta Danza and renamed Twelve. Twelve is a dance-sport piece, a universe regulated by complex mathematical and graphic permutations, a real risk that tests the physical and mental resistance of 12 dancers who have to do the impossible to achieve the impossible. Twelve is part of a programme that opens at Sadler’s Wells then goes on tour across the UK until November.
Jorge is a regular at London Contemporary Dance School and The Place, he is currently teaching morning class to the postgraduate cohort.
There’s a chance to see Jorge on stage performing his solo Through & Out² at Cervantes Theatre 1 Oct.
