Konstantina Skalionta

I am a London-based performance maker, dancer and dance teacher originally from Cyprus. I trained at Central School of Ballet, BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance, and then I undertook postgraduate studies in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School. Since 2014, I have been co-producing Kaleidoscopic Arts, a dance platform that aims at promoting and supporting female choreographers.

I always want to do more, to learn and discover more, that is why I am back to complete my MA studies. My favourite quote is ‘Dance, dance, dance otherwise we are lost‘ by Pina Bausch

I enjoy experimenting with movement, working through photography and drawing. I love making new discoveries in the studio, meeting and working with new artists. Through my work, I revisit personal experiences, I relive real moments, I re-enter deep emotions. It is a process which enables me to develop a better understanding of the human nature and of who I am. However, I seek to express something universal through my work and as well as to connect with others. I am interested in creating experiences for both the audience and the performers which will involve, engage and intrigue them..

My performance have been presented in festivals and platforms in UK and Cyprus such as Resolution 2016, 15 &14 (The Place), Swallowsfeet Dance (Brighton), Fiver Fridays, Kaleidoscopic Arts, Emerge Festival, No_Body Festival of Performing Arts and Dace (Cyprus). 2014 (GLive Theatre), Women of Mass Destruction 2 (RichMix), the 15thCyprus Contemporary Dance Platform.
