Kate Forster

Kate grew up in Northumberland and began dance in varied styles, including Musical Theatre, Ballet and Jazz. She then discovered contemporary at the age of 17 where she attended a local youth group, furthering her training at Dance City in Newcastle and Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During her time there, Kate participated within Leeds Light Night Festival, performing work by Gary Clarke, Antonio Borriello and Catarina Carvalho in 2017. Over the years, Kate has developed a passion for physical theatre and was an apprentice dancer for Protein Dance Company within (In)visible Dancing 2017. Kate attained her BPA (Hons) from Northern School of Contemporary Dance, performing work by Francesco Scavetta in her graduation performance. Alongside training, Kate was also teaching children’s yoga, and before moving to London worked with Fernanda Prata for an early stage R&D.  Kate is now looking forward to delving into the choreographic process with each choreographer of EDGE 2018/19, and enhancing herself as an artist.
