I have continuously sought to identify who I am as a movement artist; am I a contemporary dancer, am I a yoga teacher, am I a Musical Theatre performer? Only recently have I concluded that there are many versions of myself. My performing background in Musical Theatre has given me the opportunity to deal with repetition, and that has taught me to be playful, learn about efficiency in performance and how to keep character work fresh. My yoga experiences, as a student and a teacher, remind me that every experience is an opportunity to learn from the present moment and to face the uncertainty that this crazy performing world offers. My time at The Place through the DAP programme has helped me find my voice. I feel I have found confidence here to explore and research my curiosities, to allow myself to be quirky, strange and wonderful and to be open to new ways of exploring movement and ultimately life.
