Jacob Elliott Roberts

Born in South Manchester, Jacob is a dance artist who began his training at the Centre for Advanced Training at the Lowry, Salford. He continued to study for three years at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance and has been able to perform work by Laila Diallo, Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, Lizzi Kew-Ross, Alison Curtis-Jones and Joss Arnott. At Laban, Jacob developed a passion for dance work that is visually and aesthetically striking and that can push a dancer’s experience to an extreme. He has also worked and collaborated with artists such as Summit Dance Theatre, Elena Koukoli, Amanda Gough and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, for their production of Lord of the Flies. As well as this, Jacob has presented his own choreographic and installation work at venues including The Lowry, APT Gallery and the Laban Building. He was most recently taken on as an apprentice for TRIBE// Company for their new work No Sudden Moves, and is working on research that incorporates visual and material art, to inform and reinforce movement practices.
