Corinna Abela, born in Malta, is currently developing her practice to be a multi-disciplinary contemporary dance artist. With over 15 years experience of dance training in various techniques & styles, she found her voice through contemporary dance and improvisation. From technique and practice she now seeks to explore the art holistically. She has had the pleasure of working with Kerry Nicholls and Cienfuegos Danza, and participate in workshops led by Hofesh Shechter dancers, Kristina & Sade Alleyne and many more.
Throughout her three years at the University of Malta, reading for a Bachelors in Dance Studies (Honours), interdisciplinary work caught her attention and this MA in Screendance was the perfect opportunity to explore dance through a different lens. Alongside dance, technologic and choreographic interests, Corinna possesses a thriving passion for psychology, which plays an important and discernable role, influencing both her artistic creations and theoretical works.
