Coral Montejano Cantoral

Coral grew up in Mexico City. In 2012 she did an intensive program at the Limon Institute in New York City before coming to London where she graduated from Trinity Laban with a First Class BA. During her time at Trinity Laban, she performed works by Zoi Dimitriou, Eleven Farrer House and Yvonne Rainer (transmitted by Sara Wookey). In 2016 she participated in the community project led by Hagit Yakira On Falling and Recovering.

Beyond her interests in contemporary dance, she has a strong interest in visual arts and performance art. Her performative and choreographic work questions and explores the boundaries of these three practices, treating the body as vibrant matter.

Coral finds pleasure in researching and writing about dance and performance art. She has published two articles in the cultural online section of Nexos, Mexico City; both researches on the choreographic work of Yvonne Rainer and Jérôme Bel respectively.

She was recently part of the Resolution Review team here at The Place.
