Catalina was born in Chile and studied dance and teaching at Universidad de Chile. She was part of an independent company for 10 years and after graduating from University she joined the Chilean National Ballet, where she worked with national and international choreographers. Recently, Catalina has been working as a freelance dancer and teacher. Catalina believes that dance and art need to have an active role in society, so she applied to study at The Place in pursuit of making a link between her experience as a performer and her practice as a teacher. During the DAP programme she wants to explore her own artistic voice in order to enrich her work as a dance teacher and be able to communicate through dance and art.
