Simone Mousset is originally from Luxembourg and moved to London in 2007 to train at Trinity Laban where she gained a Certificate of Higher Education in Dance Theatre. She then joined the Royal Academy of Dance and recently graduated with a BA (Hons) in Ballet Education, receiving the Phillip Nind Award for original and innovative research in her final year dissertation. Also, Simone was awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance and has been training in Benesh Movement Notation since 2009. During her time in London, Simone performed in works by Zoi Dimitriou and Akane Abe, in collaborations with students from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and Roehampton University, as well as in the Royal Academy of Dance's recently initiated Karsavina Project. As an EDge dancer, Simone is looking forward to maturing and changing as a performer and individual. She hopes the experience will help deepen her understanding of contemporary dance on- and off-stage and allow her to critically reflect on her dance practice.
