Elisabeth Schilling studied at Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium Frankfurt, Laban and London Contemporary Dance School, during this time she performed in over 20 pieces for artists, including Joe Moran, Reinhild Hoffmann, Fleur Darkin, Julia K Gleich, Ula Sickle, Christina Brondsholm Andersen, Rachel Lopez de la Nienta, Gill Clarke, Marina Collard, Zoi Dimitriou and Bernard Baumgarten in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK. She has also participated in artistic research with Rosemary Butcher, Henrietta Hale and Barabara Fuchs and performed Trisha Brown repertoire in Dance Umbrella 2010.
Elisabeth received an award for special expression and interpretation in her own work at the International Dance Competition Bolzano and has recently been offered to be part of the Young Sparks Programme at Dance Umbrella 2011 after a nomination by Gill Clarke.
Alongside her performance activities, Elisabeth is deeply curious about the development of dance as an art form which she researches within her own artistic work. Her choreographic work was shown at the Bonnie Bird Theatre, Blackheath Halls, Teatro Bolzano and at several urban sites around London. She received her first commission by TrinityLaban to collaborate with the composer Andreas Papapetrou for the International String Quartett Festival Greenwich and in response to that founded the group 'Achtung Körper' which gathers people with similar interests around body, movement, music and philosophy.
Elisabeth is currently working on a short film inspired by Sarah Kane's Psychosis 4.48 as well as on a lecture demonstration about the idea interpassivity in the work of German theatre director René Pollesch with philospher Moritz Gansen.
